Football Franchise is coming to the Google Play Store — the Android app is in closed testing
It is official: Football Franchise is coming to Android as a native app on the Google Play Store. Right now it is in closed testing — the final step Google requires before a new app can go live for everyone. Here is what is coming, how the process works, and how you can get in early.
📱 What the app brings
- Football Franchise on your home screen — one tap, full screen, no browser address bar. Its own app icon and a custom splash screen with the mascot.
- The same game, every feature: draft, trades, salary cap, simulation, Hall of Fame — the full depth of the web version, tuned for playing on the go.
- A leaner app UI: streamlined header and footer, bigger touch targets, built for phone-first play.
🧪 Why “closed testing”?
- Google now requires new developer accounts to run a closed test with at least 12 testers over 14 days before an app can be promoted to production — the public release.
- That is exactly where we are: real testers are playing the app, we are gathering feedback and polishing the last rough edges. A lot of the small fixes shipped over the past weeks came straight out of this testing.
- Once the test period is cleared and Google signs off on the final review, the app goes officially live.
