Build your own menu bar — and a Team page that's instant, even 50 seasons in
Two changes this week, both straight out of your feedback: you can now set up the icon bar at the top of the game yourself, and the Team page stays fast no matter how many seasons your save has behind it.
🧩 Your menu bar, your way
- There's a new "Customize" icon at the far right of the icon bar. It opens a page with two lists: "Your menu bar" and "More pages".
- Grab an entry by its ⠿ handle and drag it where you want it — with a mouse, or with your finger in the app. Or just tap + and −.
- You can pick from 25 pages, from the Schedule to the Hall of Fame, Power Ranking and your Player Watchlist. Add Event News and its icon shows how many stories you haven't read yet.
- Your setup is saved per save game, so every franchise can have its own bar.
- If you don't touch it, nothing changes: the familiar eleven icons stay the default, and "Restore default" brings them back with one tap.
📱 Bigger icons on phones and in the app
- On narrow screens the icons are now noticeably larger and easier to hit.
- When they no longer fit in one row, the bar scrolls sideways. A small › arrow on the right tells you there's more — tap it to page along.
- The icon of the page you're on is highlighted and scrolled into view when the page loads.
⚡ The Team page after 50+ seasons: from 30 seconds to instant
- A player who has run the same franchise for more than 50 seasons told us that on the Team page in the app, every release, re-signing or character change took 10 to 30 seconds before he could do the next thing.
- Here's why. Every time the Team page opened, it loaded the entire history of every season — team stats, roster moves and the transaction history — even though that tab is closed most of the time. On the 50-season save we rebuilt to test this, that meant about 5,400 entries and roughly 15,000 images. After each action the page only jumped back to your player once every single one of those images had loaded.
- Now the 📊 Team Statistics tab loads its three sections only when you open it, a piece at a time: the latest seasons first, older ones with "Load more". Filters and sorting still work across every season.
- In the same test the page is now about nine times smaller — a little over 400 images instead of 15,000 — and after an action you land right back at your player.
- One small bonus: draft-pick trades now sit in their own season in the transaction history instead of piling up at the end of the list.
Thanks to everyone who reports things like this — it's exactly how we find the spots you'd never notice yourself. If something feels off, or there's a page you'd like in the menu bar, let us know through the feedback button in the game or on our Discord. 🏈
