It's here: Football Franchise is now on Google Play
Back in June we promised to post here the moment the Play Store link went live. This is that post: Football Franchise is now available as an Android app on Google Play — free, and worldwide. The closed test is behind us, and Google has cleared the app for everyone.
📱 Getting the app
- Open Football Franchise on Google Play, install it, and you're in.
- You'll find the Google Play badge on the home page now. If you play in a browser on an Android phone, the game shows you a short hint as well — you can fold it away if you'd rather stay in the browser.
- The app launches straight from your home screen, full screen, with no browser bar: the same league with every feature, shaped for a phone.
🙌 Thank you, testers
- This post wouldn't exist without you. Google only lets a new app into the store after at least two weeks of closed testing with real players — and your feedback made the app noticeably better in that time.
- New from that round: you can now rate the app from inside the game — look for "Rate app" at the bottom of the app and on the app home screen.
🆕 New since the last update
- Trades can no longer go through halfway. In rare cases a player or pick could change teams without anything coming back. A player reported it — a trade now either happens completely or not at all.
- The trade page on a phone has room to breathe: the negotiation bar folds away, and toolbars no longer stick to the edge of the screen.
- Feedback is a two-way street now. We reply directly, and the answer appears in the game the next time you start it — by email too, if you like. You can write back once.
- More players at the start of a game and in every draft class, so the free-agent market doesn't run out of positions.
- The news ticker now shows signings too, and only current news — no more upgrades and releases from seasons long gone.
- The trophy cabinet stays tidy: two rows at most, older titles shown as "+N" — expand them with a tap, and the page remembers your choice.
- On saves that have run for many seasons, the Franchise and Team pages had crept up to several seconds. That's fixed: in our measurements the Franchise page now loads about 20 times faster there.
The browser version carries on exactly as before — the app is an extra, not a replacement. If you enjoy it, a rating on Google Play would mean a lot: especially in the first days, it's what helps other football fans find the game. And if anything's off, tell us — through the feedback button in the game or on our Discord. 🏈
